🔴 In 2020 the number of people who came to our La Mano que Ayuda Center located at 📍la Calle Honduras, 54 de la Sagrera (Barcelona) has practically tripled. At the end of the state of alarm, in June, the figure rose by 50% and, currently, around 150 families demand help to feed themselves, of which the vast majority have children in their care.
📌 The fear is that this figure could increase because the health problem has not been solved and the social and economic problem is getting worse due to the complex situation we are experiencing, leading volunteers to be more dedicated at this time of year.
📌 But there is also great confidence in the solidarity of society, which every week contributes its help in the so-called “Food Drive Campaigns” where the association’s volunteers spontaneously request the donation of a kilo of food.
✅ In the month of December in the offices of La Mano que Ayuda La Sagrera the distribution of the “Christmas bags” was carried out in which dozens of families were able to carry a bag of food that also had the typical products of this time, marzipan, chocolates, nougat, cold cuts, panettone …
